Accessibility quotes

I’m trying to encourage colleagues to embrace web accessibility and standards. I’ve cited quotes from the W3C and the Web Standards Project, but I’ve been asked to strengthen my case with quotes from ‘disibility or digital divide organisations’. So below are some that I’ve found, posted here in case they’re of any use to others.

I’ll add to this list as I discover new quotes.

  • “For me being online is everything. It’s my hi-fi, my source of income, my supermarket, my telephone. It’s my way in.”
Lynn Holdsworth, screen reader user, Web Developer and Programmer (RNIB)

A worthwhile list; I’ll add to it if I find any.

Patrick Lauke and I got so bored of seeing Tim Berners-Lee’s quote “The power of the Web is in its universality. Access by everyone regardless of disability is an essential aspect” on every accessiiblity presentation that we ever sae that we wrote our own TBL quote generator http://tim-berners-lee-quotes.splintered.co.uk/.

Just refresh until you find the Sir Tim quote that you need.

Nice one! Sorry your comment’s only just gone live; hopefully that delay won’t happen again.

I’m stuck with these quotes though: all I can find is that RNIB one.
