Birmingham photo space
I went to a meeting this evening about setting up a lobbying group for a dedicated photography gallery in Birmingham.
As a result I prgmised to do a couple of things, forgetting that my broadband is down. Doh. So I’m writing this VERY SLOWLY on my phone, with very low signal. Oh well.
There were only three of us at the meeting so it was short and productive. I agreed to:
- Explore feasibility of setting up a charity, and alternative routes for raising capital;
- Contact existing photography galleries for informal advice.
I shall post my findings on this blog and a link to them on the flickr page.
Do you know James off of http://www.birminghamb29.com/ fame? Along with pindec they are both ex-colleagues of mine (James was my boss and for a while next door neighbour).
Olly
No, but I may know someone who does. I have seen his site before though. Do you think he’d mind if I contacted him?
Michael
Not at all – I’m sure he’d be delighted.

only three to begin with… but from small acorns…
the birmingham flickr group started off with a meet-up of only 15 people(i was there…) and now there’s nearly 300 people!
to be honest, if there were too many attending at first it would be a logistical nightmare!!!!
